General Description
The LP4030HC device is a highly-integrated switchingcharger for single cell Li-Ion and Li-Polymer battery. Thedevice includes dual integrated N-channel powerMOSFETs and a constant-frequency synchronous PWMcontroller.The device supports charge current up to 3A and canwithstand an input voltage up to 28V. The device isdisabled while the input voltage exceeds the inputover-voltage-protection threshold. The BAT pin canwithstand a voltage up to 24V, which is designed forprotecting the device from an over-shoot voltage inbattery application systems.The device provides various safety features for batterycharging, including battery under/over temperatureprotection by an NTC monitoring circuit, device junctionover temperature protection and cycle-by-cycle inductorcurrent-limit protection. There is an input voltageregulation loop for dynamic power management byreducing the charge current when the input sourcecurrent capacity is lower than the programmed chargecurrent. The STAT output indicates the charging status.The LP4030 is available in a DFN-10 (3x3mm) package.
