General Description
The LPA4891 is an audio power amplifier designed for portable applications such as GPS trackers. The LPA4891 is capable of delivering 3W of continuous average power to a 4? load from a 5.2V power supply with less than 10% distortion (THD+N).The LPA4891 is designed specifically to provide high quality output audio power with a minimal number of external components. The LPA4891 does not require output coupling capacitors or bootstrap capacitors, and therefore is ideally suited where minimal board or solution size is a primary requirement. It features a low-power shutdown mode, which is achieved by driving the /SHDN pin with logic low. Additionally, the device features an internal thermal shutdown protection.The device contains circuitry to prevent “pop and click” noise that would occur during turn-on and turn-off transitions. For maximum flexibility, the device provides an externally controlled gain (with resistors), as well as an externally controlled turn-on and turn-off times (with the bypass capacitor). The device is available in a MSOP-8 package.
